I have a Nelo 550, which came with a wave deflector as an accessory. I hadn't used the deflector so far, but a couple of weeks ago I had two days with tall short waves and going upwind every second one would crash into the cockpit. So I put the wave deflector onto the boat but now what seems to happen is that it deflects the water upwards and then the wind pushes it into my eyes. Is that supposed to be an improvement? What am I missing?
